March Fishing Report

Man has it been Windy! While it has warmed up some, the windy is surely honking. Yet that is not stopping us at Charleston Fishing Adventures! We’re still targeting Large Schools of Redfish in the shallows flats and bays. With that being said,  March Fishing will be very similar to February Fishing. Due to the colder temperatures the Redfish are schooled up and holding in extremely shallow water. This time of year the water is “Gin Clear” which allows us to really see the fishing we are looking for. The ideal fishing situation is a calm and warm day of fishing around Low Tide. This forces the Redfish away from the grass and into shallower and a whole lot warmer water. While some schools of Redfish may be finicky, we will most likely find one that wants to eat.

The Last Fishing Trip

On our last Fishing Charter, we were faced with a stiff cool breeze. A Cold Front had just passed through the area, and it was slightly warmer than the day before. We immediately located several large schools of Redfish, and the chase was on! While they were finicky, several fish still give into our demands. Using just Artificial Baits that day, we landed several overslot and in the slot. The Artificial Bait color of choice was Sapphire Shine made by Gulp. In clearer water, this is one of my favorite baits. Due to the attitude of the fish, we would catch several in one school and then move to another. While fishing this time of year may require more patience and effort, it can certainly be rewarding!
